Rücknahme von Elektroaltgeräten und Batterien
We are committed to environmentally responsible practices and therefore provide options for the simple and free return of your waste electrical equipment and batteries.
Consumers play a key role in the system for managing electrical equipment and portable batteries. They decide what happens to an old appliance or battery. Waste electrical equipment and batteries must not be disposed of with unsorted municipal waste. Instead, they should be handed over at designated collection or take-back points, from where they are sent for reuse or recycling.
Consumers must be informed by the symbols shown below that the relevant electrical equipment or battery must not be disposed of with municipal waste. All new electrical equipment and batteries are marked accordingly. The symbol may appear directly on the product, on its packaging, in the instructions for use or in the warranty documentation.
Wie entsorgt man Elektroaltgeräte und Batterien?
- individual consumers can use the BUĎ LÍNÝ or Rebalík service,
- business customers can use the Collection Service for Registered Partners,
- through the publicly accessible collection network of REMA Systém, a.s. for the take-back of electrical equipment,
- through the publicly accessible collection network of REMA Battery, s.r.o. for the take-back of batteries,
- through the publicly accessible take-back network listed by the Czech Ministry of the Environment (ISOH 2),
- if required, advice is available via the free Smart Recycling helpline at 800 976 679.
Why Recycle?
Electrical equipment and batteries contain many recyclable metals, including zinc, iron, manganese, nickel, cadmium and lead. Some of these substances can also be highly hazardous to the environment and human health, particularly mercury, lead and cadmium. Certain batteries are marked with the chemical symbol of the element they contain (Pb, Cd, Hg).
By returning batteries and electrical equipment to a designated take-back point, recyclable materials can be recovered, helping to conserve primary raw materials while protecting the environment from improper handling.
Unused batteries that are not returned for recycling and are instead stored in office drawers, homes or business premises may present a fire risk. This is particularly relevant to batteries containing lithium. For safety reasons, used batteries should therefore be handed over for recycling as soon as possible.
